A complex scenario of new disputes in the digital realm is what the director of the Digital Law Chamber (CDD-ABPI), Rodrigo Azevedo, predicted during an event commemorating the 15th anniversary of SACI-Adm. Addressing the theme “Current and future challenges in resolving disputes in the digital environment,” he considered that there is an open path for building solutions similar to those of SACI for other segments of the digital world.
“Perhaps, in the moderation of social networks, we could, in the interest of the segment itself, reduce fake news and fraud, like a SACI for social networks; perhaps e-commerce platforms, to avoid litigation, could also take the initiative to propose a simplified, independent solution mechanism with a third party; perhaps in the context of copyright,” he said.
He spoke on the panel that concluded the commemorative event on October 1st, alongside Judge Miguel Brandi of the TJSP (São Paulo State Court of Justice), Konstantinos Komaitis of the Atlantic Council, and Francisco Rios of the World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO. The moderation was handled by Raquel Gatto of NIC.br.
